Focus: The Art of Metallics

We are excited to announce the return of Focus 2024 at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour—an event that brings together world-class designers, brands, and makers. Known for its thought-provoking discussions and innovative showcases, Focus 2024 is set to inspire the design community once again.

As part of this prestigious event, we are thrilled to partner with Soho Lighting to host an exclusive panel discussion on The Art of Metallics for 2024. The panel will feature Alex Yardy, Co-owner and Creative Director of Simpsons, and Lee Lovett from Soho Lighting, alongside leading interior designers Christian Bense and Geraldine Apponyi. Together, they will explore the evolving role of metallic finishes in contemporary interiors.

Monday 16th September, 12.30pm

Simpsons, Ground Floor, Design Centre East, Chelsea Harbour

The discussion will delve into how metallic finishes can transform spaces, with insights into key trends such as mixing metals, integrating artisanal craftsmanship, and the growing emphasis on sustainable materials.

Meet our panellists

'I truly believe that variety of materials and finishes contributes the most when creating a layered and lived in space. And it really is no different when it comes to metal finishes or metallics. I think we can get a bit bogged down when it comes to metal finishes, as there seems to be this pressure to ensure that all metal finishes match, when in actual fact, creating opportunity for contrast or even a mis-match is what gives a scheme life, depth and interest'.
